| trekki | It would suck if you had to run studless, that could only mean one thing that area is freaking cold so the snow stays and turns in to ice. The roads would be quite chewed up too. |

i usually run studless. Studs aren't really needed really. Unless you deal with a situation where the snow stays on the ground through the entire winter and doesn't get shoveled. Or if there is lots of ice involved. Not that common really. |

depends which equipment your Encore has stock. Encore is available with 205/70-16's or 215/55-18's. 205/70-16: Tire rack only lists the Dunlop Grandtreck SJ6's for snow options 215/55-18: Tire rack only lists the Blizzaks in this size It looks like for winter options you're going to have to get a set of steel wheels as not many options are available in stock rim configs. I highly, highly recommend you guys check out Nokian Tires, they makes hands down the BEST winter tires in the game. Nokian actually invented the winter tire.... so yea....
